History of the Center

The Multicultural Center of Cache Valley, formerly the Hispanic Center of Cache Valley, has provided services to the minority population for over 13 years being initiated in 1993/4. The Center was founded by the current director, Leo Bravo, who holds a Bachelor of Political Science, minor in Industrial Technology and a Masters in Instructional Technology. His life style has equipped him with skills in people management and judgment. He has become an ombudsman for the minority community in Cache Valley.

Mr. Bravo initiated the “The Hispanic Vocational Center,” to facilitate the integration of Hispanics into the larger society, to improve employment opportunities, and to encourage the larger society to increasingly value the Hispanic community. At the end of 1994, Mr. Bravo and Dr. Bartell Cardon, with other community leaders, formed a board of directors for a proposed Hispanic Center. Non-profit status was achieved by 1995. A business plan, by-laws and other corporate documents were generated.
